ABOUT
Lucy Rooney, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker and Linehan Board-Certified DBT therapist specializing in evidence-based psychotherapy for older adolescents, adults, and couples. She specializes in helping people manage emotions, heal from past experiences, and break out of patterns that no longer serve them.
Lucy holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University in New York with a specialty in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology & Economics from Bucknell University.
Before opening her practice, Lucy served as the Clinical Director of Behavioral Psych Studio in NYC, providing therapeutic treatment and supervising clinicians. Prior to that, she served as a clinician at SoCal DBT and Clearview Treatment Programs in Los Angeles, CA.

While at Columbia University, Lucy completed the DBT Training Program and Lab under the supervision of Dr. André Ivanoff, President of Behavioral Tech. Lucy completed her intensive DBT training with Randy Wolbert & Gwen Abney-Cunningham.
Lucy completed her basic training in Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Personal Transformation Institute in Monterey, CA and completed her intensive training in Prolonged Exposure (PE) with Dr. Melanie Harned (both treatments targeting PTSD and complex trauma).
Lucy completed her externship in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) with Robin Williams Blake and Dr. Senem Zeytinoglu through ICEEFT.
